How to login to EBVS and College websites
How to access the EBVS and college diplomate and resident pages
This guide explains how to login to the BVS and college websites. All systems are linked through a new single authentication layer with the possibility to use passwordless login. Old passwords no longer work
Users can authenticate in two ways:
One-Time Passcode (OTP) sent by email
Password-based login
OTP is the default method. Users who prefer a password can set one. The system will remember the last method you used and present that option first at your next login.
BEFORE YOU START
You will need:
Your registered EBVS email address and login credentials. If you have forgotten which email you use to access your EBVS account you must contact your college as EBVS are unable to change this
CYIM can help users directly with login problems using the CONTACT US button
TO LOGIN
Access to the diplomate and resident access is through the sign in feature in the top right of the banner
1. Default Login: One-Time Passcode (OTP)
By default, the system uses passwordless authentication.
Step 1: Enter your email address
Navigate to the login page and enter your registered email address.
Step 2: Receive a one-time code
You will receive a time-limited code by email.
Step 3: Enter the code
Enter the code into the login screen to access your account.
Important points
The code is single-use.
It expires after a short period.
You do not need to remember a password.
This method reduces password reuse risk.
For most users, this is the recommended method.
2. Switching to Password Login
Users who prefer traditional login can set a password;
- select choose another authentication method at the screen above.
- Select enter my password
Use “Forgot Password”
If password login is already enabled, you can reset it using the standard reset link.
Once a password is set, you may log in using:
Email + Password
Email + OTP
3. System Remembers Your Last Method
The login system stores your most recently used authentication method.
If you last used:
OTP → You will be prompted for OTP next time.
Password → You will be prompted for password next time.
You can still switch methods at the login screen.
4. When to Use Each Method
| Method | Recommended For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| OTP | Most users | Higher security, no password storage |
| Password | Frequent logins, shared workstations, API-linked tools | User responsible for password strength |
If you are an administrator or reviewer accessing multiple systems, OTP reduces the risk of password reuse across platforms.
5. Security Considerations
OTP reduces credential compromise risk.
Password users must choose strong, unique passwords.
Email account security becomes critical when using OTP.
Repeated failed attempts may trigger temporary lockout.
6. Troubleshooting
Did not receive OTP?
Check spam folder.
Confirm correct email address.
Request a new code.
Password not accepted?
Ensure caps lock is off.
Use “Forgot Password” to reset.
Contact college administrator, EBVS are unable to access or change this information
Account locked?
Contact system administrator using the contact us button at the bottom of the page
Summary
OTP is the default and recommended login method.
Password login is optional.
The system remembers your last login method.
You may switch methods at any time.
This change improves security while allowing flexibility for different user preferences and workflows.
